Insurance Authorization

Our insurance authorization is for people who don't have the time or the want to deal with the hassle of getting an insurance company to pay for their home or business damage, Screening contractors and getting multiple bids from contractors. Then hoping the contractors and subcontractors know what  they are actually supposed to do. We are a sure thing and your insurance company is responsible to get you the money to get a contractor to do the right thing. So why settle with a inexperienced contractor when you don't have to. We will handle the whole project from start to finish. To give you an example of a typical scenario.

1st  Client has roof damage that has caused water infiltration in the walls and ceilings of the home.
2nd Client calls A-1 Remodeling & Building . 985-643-3502
3rd  A-1 Remodeling & Building comes out  and tarps roof to stop water infiltration.
We also install drying fans and dehumidifiers  in the house to remove all moisture. This is all done while we are negotiating with the insurance company.Meeting adjustors etc...
4 th Client is picking out colors etc.... While we are still negotiating with the insurance company.
5 th A-1 Remodeling and Building settles with the insurance company and work is started.
We work with isurance companies all the time .After Katrina ; I Michael Delaney became a registared adjustor with the state of Louisiana. I only do adjusting work as a free service for clients of A-1 Remodeling & Building. Many of times I have seen people hire an unexperienced contractor because an insurance company said, " get three bids" Well folks; Thats great if everyone has the same experience and is bidding the same exact thing but in reality. Your insurance company that you pay for is supposed to send an adjustor who is supposed to estimate the damage. They get paid hundreds and depending on the size of the job thousands of dollars to estimate your job. Unfortunately most adjustors have no previous real construction, Remodeling or Building experience. Some are paid to keep the cost of the job down. This can be a problem.Once you choose a contractor .If you have a problem your insurance company will say ," you chose the contractor". They will not pay you more to fix problems caused by a bad contractor. Many of unethical Contractors take the job even if it pays to liitle becuase it is usualy a line item bid . They just do exactly whats on the lines anything not included is not included. They blame the insurance and the insurance blames the contractor. The client is stuck in the middle and you have no rights. One job we had .Several trees feel on a roof. The adjustor paid for  new shingles , but no decking , bracing , rafters, felt paper , vents and or flashing where included. The client had  told me they got a good settlement and they felt they had a real good adjustor. After I showed the client all the things that where missed they could not believe it. These people where a perfect target for an unethical contractor because any ethical contractor could not have done the job on the money the insurance company allowed. These people would have eventually been happy for anyone who would have said they could do the job for the money allowed.A-1 Remodeling & Building fights for our clients as a free service. Come in a we will be glad to show you many cases where the insurance company just did not do the right thing.
